Use Cases Version 2

Given 2 in 5 Canadians will develop cancer in their lifetime, about 1 in 4 Canadians will die from cancer, and PCPs have a key role in cancer detection, there is a great opportunity to include cancer as a use case. PCPs not only provide an entry way to specialist referrals for symptomatic patients, but also play a key role in cancer prevention and early detection through cancer screening programs and initiating clinical investigations for worrisome symptoms. PCPs are also responsible for supporting cancer patients following discharge from the cancer centres and supporting the ongoing needs of a growing cancer survivor community.
